Will I need a new tyre, or can the puncture be repaired?
It depends where the damage is. A nail or screw in the central tread area can usually be repaired to British Standard BS AU 159, which is a far cheaper outcome than a replacement. Sidewall damage and anything close to the shoulder cannot be repaired safely and does need a new tyre. We look first and tell you which one you are dealing with, and a perished valve is often the real culprit rather than the tyre itself.
