Which Hertfordshire roads are worst for tyre damage?
The A505 between Baldock and Royston, the A1(M) between junctions 6 and 9, and the rural lanes around Ashwell, Weston, Hinxworth and Sandon produce the most call-outs for us. The A-roads cause impact damage at speed, where a single unseen pothole can split a sidewall or bend a rim. The country lanes cause slow punctures from hedge cuttings, flint and farm debris, plus rim damage from dropping onto broken verge edges when passing.
