How do I protect my tyres from potholes in Hertfordshire?

Underinflation is the biggest single factor in pothole damage because a soft tyre allows the sidewall to be pinched against the rim. Check pressures cold every two weeks, keep tread comfortably above the 1.6mm legal minimum, and have any impact damage inspected the same week rather than waiting for a slow leak to become a flat.
