Can I claim compensation for pothole damage from Central Bedfordshire Council?

Yes, if the damage happened on a road the council maintains. Submit photos of the pothole, details of the location and a repair receipt or quote through the council’s claims process. Claims are often refused where the council can show the defect had not been reported or picked up on inspection, so reporting it promptly strengthens your position. Damage on unadopted roads or on the A1(M) falls outside the council’s responsibility.
